What the Bible says about Health

Great medical care is priceless. Scientists have warned about hazards of cholesterol, tobacco, stress, obesity, and alcohol. Hospitals and and clinics are packed with people who have ignored the warnings – and if you don’t want to join them, then heed the warning and begin taking care of your body. God truly cares how you treat your body, and He's given you a free health plan, and a manual to go by... the Bible! Let's take a few moments to see what the Bible has to say about taking care of our bodies.

The Bible rates health right near the top of the list in importance. Man's mind, spiritual nature, and body are all interrelated and interdependent. What affects one affects the other. If our bodies are misused, our minds and spiritual natures cannot become what God ordained they should. The Bible is True

How do we know the Bible is true? Seven proofs that show that the Bible is a trustworthy book. One of the greatest miracles of the Bible is its unity. The 66 books of the Bible were written over an estimated 1,500 years on three continents in three languages by about 40 different people who, in most cases, had never met. Their education and background varied greatly. They were kings, shepherds, scientists, attorneys, an army general, fishermen, priests, and a physician. Yet, though it seems totally inconceivable, the 66 books maintain an amazing consistency and harmony with each other. Jesus Christ Himself said, "Scripture cannot be broken" (John 10:35). Does It Matter What We Believe?

How is it that Christians read the same Bible yet teach different doctrines? With so many denominations and only one Bible, who is right? Are they all right or are they all wrong? Does it matter what we believe and teach? The answer to this question should be obvious. Following God's word is always in our best interest especially with so much at stake. His Truth always guides us in the right direction and for this reason we need to give earnest attention to understanding it.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Corinthians 5:21. It is by faith that a believer changes from being controlled by Satan to becoming a member of the family of God. Our sins our lifted from us through forgiveness and our they are transferred into the heavenly sanctuary by Christ our high priest. Christ becomes our substitute and surety. Jesus has taken upon Himself our guilt and imputes to use His own righteousness. He satisfies the demands of the law and justice. It is not the amount of work we do but the spirit in which we do it that counts. When Jesus sees us lifting the burdens of others and putting others' needs before our own, He adds to their work His perfection. He makes it acceptable before the Father. Those who put forth humble efforts to live up to the requirements of God's law with a sincere will and remorseful heart are regarded as obedient children. Christ's righteousness is attributed to them and they are seen as holy.
