Savory Broth Mix

This is a low sodium broth mix that works for many different soups. It is a dry mix of herbs and spices you can keep on the shelf.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup nutritional yeast flakes
  • 1 Tbsp onion powder
  • 1 Tbsp dried parsley
  • 2 tsp dried sage
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried time
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp dried rosemary
  • ½ tsp fresh ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp ground turmeric
  • ½ tsp ground coriander seed
  • ¼ tsp ground celery seed

Directions

  1. In a dry blender, combine the onion, yeast, parsley, sage, salt, paprika, garlic, powder, thyme, oregano, sugar, rosemary, black pepper, turmeric, coriander seed, and celery seed and blend them into a powder. Let the dust settle before opening the lid of the blender.
  2. Pour the powder into a container with a tight sealing lid for storing on a shelf with our herbs and spices. Don't forget to label it well.
  3. To use, mix two tsp. of broth mix with one cup of water and add to pot to start a soup.
