History

People to People Ministries began in 1978. It was in the mid 1980’s we started providing tutorial services in reading and math for children in grades 3 to 6 through a program called CITY (Citizens Involved in Teaching Youth). During the summers we operated a six-week summer enrichment program (1985-1992).

In the fall of 1992 with the help of the Oregon Chapter of Maranatha Volunteers International we moved into a new facility (the Community Learning Center- CLC) located on Northeast 42nd and Prescott St. in Portland, Oregon. The center operated a day school for children from pre-K to sixth grade. The center also hosted health/wellness seminars, health fairs and religious seminars.
